Fried Plantain| How To Make Dodo

Plantain can be eaten in different way I tell you; as a snack, as a main meal and even as a solid.... yeap! there is plantain fufu

Fried plantain is local snack prepared by frying thin and uniformly cut plantain fingers. I call it " the test of patience" because most people eat half of everything before it's even ready. lol

It is really easy to make, it can be enjoyed as lunch or a snack with family and/or friends.

All you need are:

  • 2-3 fingers of Plantain
  • 1/2 cup of veg oil
  • pinch of salt (optional)
Cooking Procedures

1. First, heat up the oil to be be used; on a high heat

2.Cut the plantain fingers at both ends and slightly across with a knife to open it up

3.Slice the fingers into desired shapes but thin and uniformly

4.Sprinkle the sliced Plantain with salt, and if you're afraid of getting it salty,
just don't bother about it...it's optional

5. when you start hearing cracking sound from the heated oil, reduce the heat
and gently transfer sliced bits using a frying spatula

 6. While the Plantain is getting fried, prepare a colander with used paper laid
or just a bowl with laid with paper.

7. Check if the underside of the Plantain is light brown and then turn it over,
again using a spatula and then increase heat to medium.

 8. When both sides are brown enough, reduce heat and transfer into the set
colander and leave to drain oil for at least 5 mins

Serve with fried egg, Beans, Rice, Ata dindin...it can also be eaten alone.
Enjoy!
